An attorney with over 20 years of experience, lawyer Zac Barnett spends his time advising fund sponsors as the co-founder of Fund Finance Partners (FFP). Recognized in Chambers USA over half a dozen times while working as an attorney, Zac Barnett spoke about the fund finance industry in the video version of “Fund Finance Friday: Industry Conversations” in July 2020.

The “Fund Finance Friday” video was hosted by Mike Mascia of Cadwalader and featured Whitney Namm Pollack, the executive director of Project Sunshine and Graham Bippart, the editor at “Private Funds CFO,” alongside Mr. Barnett.

During the conversation between Mascia and Barnett, the FFP co-founder noted that he had not seen a dip in fund finance activity. Since the initial drop-off of new funds being raised that occurred in April, the number has been improving each day. In fact, FFP received four to five calls a week from new sponsors seeking liquidity during June, and that rate appears to have remained consistent through the time of the video.

Mr. Mascia also saw these similar numbers in his own practice. While he predicted that numbers would continue to flounder due to the pandemic, later analysis showed that activity levels had remained robust in June and July.
