Private Equity Funding Poised for Continued Growth
A pioneer in the fund finance space, attorney Zac Barnett has experience representing private equity fund sponsors and investment banks through several of the largest fund financings ever achieved. A lawyer and cofounder of Fund Finance Partners, LLC, in Chicago, attorney Zac Barnett regularly participates in various industry events, including ones organized by Private Equity Insights (PEI).
An organization that holds private equity networking and professional development events worldwide, PEI recently published a report showing that private equity deal-making has reached the highest level since before the 2008 global financial crisis. Currently, there is no foreseeable end to the buyout boom as companies continue to pursue attractive investment opportunities and unspent private equity funds have grown to nearly $2.5 trillion.
Just in the first half of 2019, private equity companies have closed on a series of megadeals worth more than $10 billion. This dealmaking has not been subdued by market volatility or the slowdown in global growth, stated the PEI article. Looking to the future, tens of billions of dollars are currently being raised for new funds, further boosting the private equity market.
